2020 Honda Shine125 BS6: Motor, Transmission and Mileage

The 2020 Honda Shine 125’s single-cylinder, 124cc, air-cooled, fuel injected engine is compliant with BS6. The motor produces 10.7 PS at 7500 RPM, and 11 Nm at 6000 RPM. This engine is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The new Shine features Honda’s Enhanced Smart Power technology (eSP), maximising both performance and fuel efficiency. The new Shine also includes Honda’s Eco Technology (HET) and an ACG silent start motor. In real-world conditions, the new Honda Shine 125 BS6 achieves 55-60 km.

2020 Honda Shine125 BS6: Tires, Brakes, and Features

The new Honda Shine 125 is mounted on a diamond-frame frame. It has telescopic forks in the front and hydraulic dual 5-step adjustable shock-absorbers in the rear. A 130 mm drum brake is used at the rear, while a 240mm disc or 130 mm drum unit can be used at the front. As an added safety feature, it also comes with CBS (a Combined Braking System). The 18-inch HET tubeless tires are used on the motorcycle. The tyres are 80/100-18 in size and offer low rolling resistance for increased fuel efficiency. The new Shine 125 features an analogue cluster of instruments that provides all ride-related information.

There are two options for the 2020 Honda Shine 125: Front Disc or Front Drum. The Front Drum Brake variant currently costs Rs. 68,812, while the Front Disc Brake is priced at Rs. 73,512. All prices are ex-showroom Delhi. It is comparable to the Hero Glamour125, Super Splendor125, Honda SP125, Bajaj Pulsar125, etc. The verdict is in: If you are looking for a 125cc commuter that gets great mileage, looks good, and has decent features, the Honda Shine 125 BS6 should be your choice.
