The new Honda Jazz is Honda’s premium midlevel hatch. The second-generation Jazz has a premium feel that the previous model did not have.


All new Jazz is built on the Exciting H design philosophy. The front fascia has a large grille and chrome lining that blends seamlessly with the sweptback headlamps. A redesigned bumper offers a larger air dam and circular fog lamps on each side. There are very few changes to the side profile, other than the sharp lines and boxy appearance. The reflector inserts are now placed horizontally in the tail-lights. It comes with 15-inch alloy wheels.


The Jazz’s interiors are very similar to the City. The Jazz features include:

  • A 5-inch LCD touchscreen display infotainment system with touch-sensitive air-conditioning.
  • An instrument cluster with a blue highlight.
  • 2-spoke steering wheels mounted with audio controls and comfortable seat upholstery with ample leg/head/shoulder space.


The all-new Jazz is available in both petrol and diesel versions.

A 1.2L 4-cylinder SOHC-i-VTEC motor powers the petrol engine. It has a maximum power output of 90Ps and a peak torque of 110Nm. This motor can be mated to either a 5-speed manual transmission or CVT gearbox.

The diesel engine is a 1.5L 4-cylinder DOHC-i-DTEC engine that produces 100Ps of power and 200Nm peak torque. It’s mated with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The ride and handling are much better thanks to the suspension setup of the McPherson Strut coil spring at the front and Torsion beam spring springs at its rear. It comes with 175/65 15 inch alloys.

Safety features include dual SRS Airbags, driver’s side window one-touch up/down, pinch guard, impact mitigating Headrests, an immobilizer Anti-Theft System, ACE Body Structure and ABS with EBD.

Latest Update on Jazz

Honda Cars India launched the 2020 Jazz car. Prices start at Rs. 7.49 lakh. The BS6 Jazz will only be available with a petrol engine. The premium hatchback will only be available in three variants – VX, VX, and ZX. Each trim will also come with the CVT automatic option. The 2020 Jazz starts at Rs. Honda Jazz Engine

The 2020 Honda Jazz will feature the same 1.2-litre iVTEC engine as the Amaze subcompact sedan. The BS6-compliant motor will produce 89 bhp and 110 Nm peak torque. A 5-speed manual gearbox will handle transmission duties, as well as an optional CVT-automatic unit. Honda will offer paddle shifters for the CVT versions of the car, just like the City sedan.

The Jazz’s face has been updated with LED daytime running lights and a glossy black grille with chrome borders. The top-end variant includes LED headlights, LED fog lamps, and LED fog lamps.

The CVT option was previously available but is now available with the manual trim. These features include a push-button engine stop/start and a Smart key with keyless remote control.
